Being busy means that you can’t do much else.
Being productive means that you are really accomplishing tasks and achieving results.
The average worker says that he/she is too busy to perform other actions/tasks since he/she spends almost all the time in his “9-5” job.
Why people are usually satisfied with being busy and they do not much care about their productivity?
Well, it’s a matter of ambition and aspiration. If they truly want something you can bet that they fill find ways to perform the necessary actions off-the work or even during job-time if in some moments they simply have nothing to do.
The aspirants may do a 9-5 job because they have a family to sustain, expenses to cover and so on but then, in the spare time, they will do whatever they can to build something else. They are called Side Hustles and I personally love them. I think that they are a way to keep myself (and all the Side-Hustlers) motivated, engaged and overall “productive”.
Yes, everyday job may be necessary but losing time on non-productive activities is not necessary.

Besides, many people that do not have enough money to live or to invest or do whatever they may be able to evolve their situation, are usually dispersing money into useless things. But, make sure to observe them. They will invest a lot of time into passions or sometimes inertial habits that usually cost them money, time and often energy.
It’s good to have passions. But the best passions, are the profitable ones. And I am not talking about (just) money.
One of my passions has been wheelchair basketball, that I am involved in since 2009. I invested time, money and energy but I think I had a huge outcome: I grew up as a person, more sensible, more listener, more careful more aware. I brought results to a lot of people: team-mates, teams, organizations, 1000s of young students, sponsors and so on.
Now I am involved in the Yoga path, that costs me some time, but it also taught me to be more efficient in my everyday life, increase my energy status, feeling better and keeping healthier.
I think that the people that are active on Hive, are aiming towards productivity as all of us are using Hive as a Side-Hustle (a few maybe as a full time job), to do some brand positioning, to create an extra income or simply to create relationships across the world.

So, productive people tend to be busy. Busy people are not necessarily productive.
And what is the tale between the “yes, I can do it” and the “done”?
Here come a master book I read a couple of times already. It’s Relentless, from Tim Grover. I will probably dedicate a full article about the books I have read so far (they are quite a lot), but from this one, one phrase got my mind and it was:
Do, Done, Next.
Like Einstein is told to have said once:
“If I was told to cut down a forest, I would spend 60% of the time sharpening my axe and the remaining actually cutting down”.
Good planning, and then work. That leads to PRODUCTIVITY.
Meaning: plan it, do it, fulfil the goal and then set the next one. How often procrastinating and delaying things happen to me as well?
