Can music, define, a sub - culture?
If you think about, let's say, Punk - Music you surely recognize, that many fans or consumer, are living and dressed in a specific way.
The same experience can be made, if you look at the Hip Hop - Scene or at people, who like Heavy Metal.
They all (like any fan, of a certain style), are having their own "code" and behaviour. But there are similarities, like the relaxed, deepness which is part of the Reggae -, Hip Hop -, Jazz - or Soul - Scene. Or the nearly arrogant, elitist behaviour of the Punk -, Pop - or Classic - Scene.
I am a consumer (of course, also a fan) of all real music - styles. I've played in different Punk -, Metal - or Crossover - Bands, i am producing all urban styles and i am doing all styles of dance music. I am really living, in all of these cultural aspects.
That made me come, to the conclusion, that there can be only one culture.
If music, can divide people, in different groups or "cultures", then one of the most influencual form of art, the art of filming, must have the same effect.
But, would you say, that fans of horror - movies, the consumer of romantic comedy - movies or the fans of animated movies are different cultures?
There is, just, one mankind.
