Happy New Year everyone! Today marks the second day of 2026. I hope everyone is having a wonderful time celebrating with family, friends, or loved ones, and I am too! Today, I'll share with you the atmosphere of my New Year's Eve celebration with my Thai friends in Italy.
We met up on December 31st to count down to 2026 together. It was a casual, friendly atmosphere, just like any other group of friends. We met at another friend's house, about an hour's drive from our city. After waiting for another friend to finish work, we picked her up.
When we arrived, she had already prepared all the food. She cooked everything herself; we only helped a little. She's amazing!
It wasn't just Thai food; there was also Italian food, and it wasn't just Thais – there were Italians joining us too! The table was overflowing with food. I was so surprised; she said she'd been preparing it since morning.
We started preparing some dishes, each contributing a few. We didn't eat until almost 7 PM. We started with beer.
We toasted with a glass of beer to kick off the meal, then we enjoyed our food and white wine. It was so much fun; we hadn't seen each other like this in a long time, and we had so much to talk about.
We sat and ate and drank until the countdown. Just before the countdown, the fireworks outside were already set off. We forgot to check the time and only had two minutes to prepare, so everything was chaotic.
Our friends were busy setting off fireworks at home and missed the countdown, but we stood outside looking at pictures. It was very cold, but the beautiful lights from the fireworks from other places against the dark sky were stunning.
Tonight was a fun and exciting New Year's Eve countdown. We got to see our friends, talked, and ate delicious food. These are pictures of our countdown to the new year. I hope everyone has good health, a good life, and happiness. May this be a great start to the year. Happy New Year!
