"The best time in a person's life is the time when he can use the freedom he has seized for himself."
Pramoedya Ananta Toer
Have you ever had a possessive partner? If so, let's discuss it for a moment.
A possessive partner is like the top button on a shirt. Sometimes we have to keep buttoning it, even though it makes us feel short of breath. Have you ever felt such discomfort? Which is still done even though it is uncomfortable.
I have ever. My ex-boyfriend is very possessive, he seems to have 1000 reasons to cover me with things that often don't make sense. Not allowed to chat with other men. You can't save other men's numbers. Must be home before evening. It has to be this, it has to be that, all of which is regulated with one-sided considerations.
I lived a relationship with him like the world only contained two people. My life is stressful. I often say, "Give me freedom."
So he was very angry, he said that I was the type of woman who couldn't be controlled. Free women have a negative connotation. Even though I'm just asking for a healthier relationship. Gives me freedom to move so I can breathe more freely.
It cannot be denied that there are many people who interpret freedom as something that is wild, allowed to do whatever they like, without limitations, anti-criticism, so that adherents of this kind of freedom can act too far; saying rude things, making negative comments, making fun, body shaming, etc. under the pretext of freedom of opinion. However, freedom is not without limitations.
People who freely speak harshly will hurt other people. Freedom is not without limits, in fact it must remain with limits so that no one is hurt or harmed.
Because my ex-boyfriend interpreted the freedom I asked for as something that could harm him, I chose to end it. I chose to release the button, releasing the connection that was making me breathless. After that I really felt better. My movements are more flexible. I can express however I want.
This is where our first meeting ends. This is my opinion, maybe we agree, maybe we also differ.
