The group phase is over, time to announce the quarter-finalists. A short comment here on each group. I will post detailed analysis and group phase prizes tomorrow and the day after, respectively.
Group A
@venan secured the 1st place after 5 match days. The last round has decided that @flaxz joins him in the quarterfinals. The 3rd place goes to @ptaku and he will continue in Consolation Cup quarterfinals. A bit of a surprise for the Defending Champion not to come thru into play-offs (first time in #MAcFiT history).
Special mention and congrats to @cryptospa - very well played and he has won the honorable title (and some HBD) of Best Eliminated Player of the group phase.
Group B
@ilodz24hd is the only player with 6 wins in the group phase, therefore the MVP title (and some extra HBD) goes to him. @cezary-io advances to the play-off phase for the first time ever (having played in all 4 past editions). Well done @notak - he had been the lowest ranked player out of all 16 group phase participants, yet managed to win twice and finish 3rd.
A tough group from which @browery and @bucipuci have emerged victorious. @manuvert , for the first time in his 5 Champions League appearances, will not play in the play-offs. However, he will continue in the Consolation Cup quarterfinals.
The score of the 3rd place player (@grecki-bazar-ewy) would have been enough to win groups A and C! She is the best 3rd placed player and will receive some extra HBD for that on top of continuing in Consolation Cup. Yet, the top two places have been decided between @masoom and I. My long hiking weekend has put me ahead of him.
As mentioned above, they will continue in Consolation Cup quarterfinals and will be seeded there. The seeding order has been determined by their total score in the group phase:
They will be paired with winners of Consolation Cup Round of 8 (results tonight), who will be sorted in reverse order of their total score in the said Round. Therefore:
QF1: GF_1 vs CC_4
QF2: GF_2 vs CC_3
QF3: GF_3 vs CC_2
QF4: GF_4 vs CC_1

I have already singled-out @cryptospa. The other players who finished 4th (@davidesimoncini, @davidthompson57 and @pjansen) haven't won a single point, but they will still receive HBD for playing in the group phase.
