I made a new attempt the other day to take a walk to the fields fronting our complex. It is the way to the Lobau National Park in Vienna, passing along the fields of parsley and potatoes. I quickly strode to the narrow road intended for nature lovers. Some walked with their kids, there were some bikers too...it seems the area is a favorite among dog owners as many walk their dogs from this road til the lagoon.

It is a very good exercise just taking a walk, it is refreshing, rejuvinating.... one gets to see nature, the flora and fauna as well as faces of people indulging in the the same thing like I do. It makes me happy hearing the laughter of the kids enjoying the walk with their parents which could mean they get away from all those computers and gadgets for a time being.

During the walk, I thought of our new home. There are still so many things that needed to be done....there are still boxes to unpack but we are taking it slowly since we have all the time in the world...Lol, afterall, we are retirees now.

Despite these busy days, I had been taking walks in the vicinity particularly in the open fields, a form of exercise to get my veins freed from the stress caused by sitting when unpacking things.

And so while walking, I took these images to show you some of the beautiful areas of the park. This is only a portion of the Donau Auen National Park and I haven´t been to other areas yet. I am sure they are as beautiful as this area.

There are so much things to see and to discover. I know that I will be going back here more often. It is such a nice area for long biking and I want to try that soon.
