me pongo a pensar.
ENGLISH
I was always the one saying "take care" in every goodbye.
We are like those old heaters in the house: turned on all winter long, warming every nook and cranny, making sure no one gets cold. We check that they have dry socks, hot tea, their appointment booked, a calm heart.
We do it because it comes from the heart, because we learned that loving means being attentive.
I always did it, I do it, and I will keep doing it. It's my way of loving.
But sometimes, walking alone in the park, I start to think.
If we are the blanket that covers everyone… who covers us when we feel cold?
If we are the clock that reminds everyone of everything… who tells us that we also deserve to stop?
If we are the umbrella that opens for everyone… who notices when we are getting wet?
A whole lifetime of caring. Making sure they lack nothing. And suddenly, that quiet question hits you, almost guiltily: and what about us?
It's not a complaint. It's a reminder. Because sometimes we forget that the one who cares also gets tired, also has doubts, also needs someone to tell her "take care" and truly mean it.
For someone to hand her a tea without her asking.
For someone to ask you how you are and actually wait for the real answer.
So today, I say it to myself, and I say it to all of you who are in the same boat:
Take care of yourselves!
Take care of us!
