Have you ever worked (in your job) on weekends?
Explain what you like or dislike about it and why.
These days I don't do education any more. My job consisted of being a primary school teacher in a public school. The other job I was employed as a teacher was at a private university, with benefits and taking on extra work was another income which is never a bad thing.
At school, sometimes we were asked to work weekends when it was a verbena to collect money for different repairs in the school. I didn't like it very much because if we were going to sell something to raise money the teacher had to ask the representatives for cakes, biscuits, sweets to sell, I didn't like that because it was like asking them to collaborate and in addition to collaborating they also had to buy what was on offer.
At the university, on the other hand, they offered courses at the weekends and this was in addition to my employment from Monday to Friday. The work consisted of administering a subject of a programme such as Componente Docente, which was to prepare professionals from other areas who wanted to enter education to have tools for academic planning, evaluations and other aspects to consider in the area.
I learned a lot at the university because I didn't have to be demanding to improve the institution, on the contrary, every Saturday was an academic adventure because of the meeting and sharing of knowledge.
After a few years of being out of the classroom, sharing in the classroom is a good taste after a few years out of the classroom. Feeling listened to when you share your experiences is very satisfying.
