I just spent thirty minutes of my time listening to a very productive conversation between Dan Larimer and a gentleman called Brandon Lovejoy (cool name btw). At any rate, I knew Dan was probably cooking something, but I do have to confess, I never imagined he went this route.

If I'm completely honest, I think the idea is great, but I don't know if it will work in practice. Which is to say, It sure seems like the idea behind ClarionOS is revolutionary. Just imagine a merger between Torrents and social media. But, unless the tools are easy enough to use, the nodes are easy enough for the average joe to setup, It's likely that it will become centralized regardless.

As with all his previous projects, they have a deep philosophical/economical theory behind them, and this one might be the craziest as of yet.

I will confess I've not finished reading the book, and this might be why I'm having these ideas for breakfast so to speak. But, I can't think of a more creative way to truly embrace freedom of speech.

Not crypto?

As he was describing the workings, I began to wonder how this whole thing was monetized. Well, it's not unreasonable for me to ask that question, since it's always been a subject that Dan does not shy away from.

Guess what? It's not a token. There is no Tokenomics here. This is just a tool being proposed. A first layer if you will. They also go on to discuss integration with EOS, and there are some cool ideas here, but I can't help but to wonder why?.

In other words, this boat floats on it's own, at least theoretically. And, anything could be integrated with it. This means something like HIVE could easily be leveraged here.

Gossip Networks for all

These networks only talk to each other if trusted parties accept each other's messages. In other words: Islands of online tribes, albeit family members or video game aficionados.
