I haven’t ate anything all day. Now, I’m not purposely starving myself, I’m just not hungry. Plus I’m having a few drinks with friends later, and because you get drunk quicker if you haven’t eaten, I’ll be saving myself money. It’s a win win.
Less alcohol = more money saved = happy Meliss.
I know I said I’m trying to be healthier, and I know alcohol is bad for you but I definitely need some time with my friends. We’re not really close and they’re not my best friends but at least I’m not completely alone. In my eyes what’s the point in doing anything if you’ve got no one to share it with?
In some situations I love being alone. When I write or read, I don’t want anyone around me. I don’t particularly enjoy being in a library, I know it’s quiet but it’s just not good enough. I like to know that no one will distract or annoy me, I just want to be left alone with my thoughts.
I think that’s why I find it so hard to write whilst I’m at work. I’m not supposed to be writing but I just get so bored, so what better to do than to write? But it is hard because there’s so many distractions. It takes me ages to just write a single sentence, it can get very annoying. I think I’ve been writing this for about half an hour and there’s barely anything to show for it. I mean, it is my fault for trying to write at work, there’s always going to be distractions.
Anyway, back to the topic. I love being alone SOMETIMES, not all the time. I quite enjoy the company of others, believe it or not. When I lived in England and had loads of friends I’d be out every day and wouldn’t return until late, it was honestly the best time of my life. I remember just having so much fun and trying so many different experiences.
Since coming to Australia I have slowly but surely become a homebody. I rarely want to go out and prefer the comforts of home. Maybe it’s because I’m older or maybe it’s just because I have 2 friends here. I think it’s the friends. Plus these friends aren’t exactly my type of friends anyway. I know these girls probably won’t be around in a year or so, but I just really need the company at the moment.
You only get a few good friends in your lifetime and I’m so glad I’ve found mine. Although, they live halfway across the world. Courtney is my best friend, she’s more like a sister. I think she knows me better than I know myself. I can be 100% myself around her and will never be judged. We may live oceans apart but it hasn’t broken our bond at all, only brought us closer together. I know she’s always going to be around and I feel very grateful that I have her.
No idea where I was going with this post, yet again.
I’ll speak to you all tomorrow (Hopefully without a hangover.)
Until next time,
Meliss
(Apologies for the terrible writing today. I didn’t have time to edit)
