Hi, guys!
Lately, I’ve been so incredibly exhausted that I barely have the energy for anything at all. But there’s no helping it; I just have to keep working, because I can’t destroy with my own hands the very thing I’ve worked so long to build. So, we just keep going—working with the methodical persistence of a maniac, just hanging in there by a thread.
I have a therapy session today; afterwards, I plan to get some sleep and then tackle a massive workload, since tasks keep piling up and I really need to focus on them more systematically. That said, I need to take a brief break to attend to the blog. I’ll set my manuscript aside for a bit—though not for long—to start reading the book for the club I’m joining at the end of the month, before diving back into my own text. Of course, I don’t really want to get distracted, but I have to. So, I’ll write a little less today, but at least I’ll manage to cover some of those work obligations. Plus, the book I’m reading right now is actually quite interesting—it’s about hot gay men in space. I’m also hoping the packages I’ve been waiting a week for finally arrive; that would be amazing, because, seriously, how much longer can this take? I really ought to take care of myself, too. There’s no shortage of things to do—I’m literally up to my eyeballs in work.
My beta readers are successfully weeping over my text, so everything is going according to plan. I need to make them cry even more, though. But we’ll get there in time. It’s all about taking things step by step.
Honestly, I get so much pleasure out of the process of working on the book, and that’s wonderful. I’m amazed myself at the beautiful, rich world I’ve created. And the desire to keep working on it hasn’t faded, which is something truly valuable in itself.
So, the whirlwind of work continues, and that’s great. But right now, I need to slow down just a tad and look around to see how things are going. Just a quick look around to check the lay of the land.
Have a great day, everyone!
