Hate, an eventuality of hidden pain.
A love gone sour.
A transition of power to the mind rather than the heart to channel feelings.
They say that one loves with the heart and grooms hate with the mind. Hate we give one another is as result of the mind taking full control of our feelings.
At the beginning, it was a joyride. No pride, no argument and no bite backs.
It was just a selfless show of our pure selves.
Delirious with joy any time her call, text or message comes in. Until the gloomy days came around like a burglar at night. Ransacking the house of every memory we made. I never knew whether it was my unattached self that caused it or her inability to understand me; as I am, that forestall a reoccurrence of hate between us.
The next thing I noticed was that the texts became less frequent, almost non forthcoming. The calls rare. The posts kept disappearing. At the sight of me, she turns the other way without bating an eyelid. Whenever we run into each other, there is this indescribable exasperation written all over her face.
Then the overthinking now sets in. The flickers of doubt turned into a full current. Questions kept rising like foams in my mind.
What have I done?
What did I not do?
How is this even happening?
These questions became a recycled meal fed to my mind. I found myself at a loss because I couldn't provide any answers to those questions. Whatever that was left of that relationship have been erased by my mind "over ride function"
The absence of affection, friendship and respect, becomes the new look of a once treasured relationship. Without any chance of resolution, both parties go their separate ways with the hope that one day, they will meet the partner of their dreams.
Both rely on the power of time to sort their difference out if they so wish.
