There’s no other place like home. New coffee by Dabov Specialty coffee in the Saturday morning.
Well, after some traveling around our wedding anniversary last week, we are already home and enjoy our place. Every time after we come back from either our parents homes or some cozy hotel/guest house we see how we feel the best and most comfortable at home. And the children seem also to enjoy their place the best.
This morning we are on our main Saturday routine. The kids are awake and I have to take care of them. At least this morning they are happy and seem to have slept well.
The little guy enjoys the “safe” play field, while his brother is enjoying some fairy tales on YouTube.
This feels like the right time to prepare some coffee and although we enjoy other coffees too, coffee at home tastes best! It’s not only because we are buying a specialty coffee, but the fact that we are most comfortable at home makes coffee joy even greater.
This week we had a new delivery and I was pretty impatient about it. This is due to the fact that Dabov Specialty coffee have a lot of new coffees in their portfolio. I guess that as the last season’s crops are picked and dried and the auctions are taking place, they are now delivering a lot of new coffees. Some of them are new crops from an already known farmers and varieties, both other coffees are brand new. Today’s coffee is just one of the freshest additions.
It is called Sidamo Nansebo and comes from Ethiopia. There are a lot of coffees that Jordan Dabov pick from that exact country and they all seem to be very fruity and flavorful.
I ordered, and will enjoy these coffee beans on a V60 filter brewing set, so the grinding size is a rougher one - M2-8. What makes me impression is that all the coffees that I purchase from this shop are baked no more than a week ahead of delivery date. This really means that we receive the freshest possible beans. The roast level is medium light and coffee promises to be very light and flavorful.
One thing that I may have forgotten to mention in my posts about the V60 brewing method and particularly brewing with these filtering papers is that if you want a coffee without unwanted flavors you have to wash the paper with hot water.
If you skip this step it’s very likely that there will be some unwanted paper taste in your delicious coffee. I can really smell that when I start to rinse the paper. Of course it disappears quite fast and after that there’s nothing to worry about when you brew your beans.
Today’s coffee is really tasty and alongside with the “Multi chocolate” flavor, it hosts some pretty delicious blueberry and cream notes. The intensive chocolate flavor develops into a fruity one and finishes quite smooth and creamy. While the coffee is not that special and exclusive, it is still very delightful easy to drink. The price point is very low as well, so this is a really nice pick.
Now it’s time to enjoy my cup of excellence coffee while taking care of the kids.
