It’s been a while since I’ve been to this beautiful neighborhood, but I think that’s because I’ve cut out coffee outings from my budget and have been content to drink it at home; you know, the decisions of a responsible adult. Coincidentally, I left the house today without eating breakfast, and my husband convinced me to go to a bakery we hadn’t visited yet and that he was really curious about.
This café is small but quite busy. At first glance, it doesn't stand out much because it has few sweet and savory options, so I chose a puff pastry filled with ham and cheese, along with a medium-sized café con leche.
As for the pastry, I can say it was tasty, but honestly, it's no big deal: the filling isn't very generous, and it's small. Maybe for $2.50, it could be considered a good value, but is it a place I'd go back to for it? Definitely not.
Now let’s get to what matters: the coffee. The first thing worth noting is its size, since in most coffee shops I’ve visited, the large cup of coffee is the same size as this one, which is supposed to be the medium size, so I’d give it a plus just for that. When it comes to flavor, unfortunately I can’t be quite as optimistic, since it’s clear that this coffee lacks body, has low density, and leaves a light or watery sensation in the mouth; almost like tea.
In short, for $1.30, it’s reasonable to stop by and have a café con leche, but it won’t be a memorable experience; you’ll forget about it as soon as you finish it 😅. The place is simple, but it’s clean and tidy. However, it’s not a place I can recommend; it’s more of a spot to visit if you need a quick bite to eat, since there’s no other bakery nearby.
