I just ended my interview for a position that I applied for last week. The process was pretty fast as I applied for the job posting Wednesday and the next day I got a text if I was available to have a short interview.
A few minutes and the interviewer called and introduced herself as Rae. We talked about my experience in recruitment, sourcing channels I have used before and the most challenging jobs I have handled.
The interview went on smoothly as I charmed and impressed her with the experience and knowledge I have. It was nice being on the other side for a change. It was nice talking about my goals, dreams and plans.
I was to be here replacement if ever and I started asking her about what she liked about the company, the culture, what drives people in the company and what she would change if she had the chance.
It isn't my first rodeo as we switched chairs and I asked the questions that matter to me.

I got to another level and was scheduled to be interviewed Saturday by a panel of recruiters from the US and South America. This would be the people that I would be working closely if I get hired and so they wanted to meet me.
The panel was composed of two Americans and one Catracho from Honduras. I got to admit it was pretty exciting meeting someone from Honduras as I have never met one before. It was interesting hearing his accent and manner of speaking.
It was a rapid-fire question session as they asked about my experience, work ethic, client and stakeholder management skills.
I got to listen as they talked about their experience with the company and what they liked about it. It is really important to hear it first-hand from people working there was makes it special.
I guess I was able to sufficiently impress them as I was scheduled for another interview with the site director and country head of HR. The interview was today and I just got off a Zoom meeting with them.
Oh boy, ever had that feeling that things are going so well and then you stumble over one thing and it all comes crashing down. That is how I felt.
The site director Vicky was nice enough and all throughout the interview we were able to build a rapport. The flow of the conversation was going well and I felt that I was able to give her answers that showcased my strengths. Then the country head of HR Kenny started to ask questions and I could feel that her questions were a bit more pointed and her manner were more aggressive from the tone of her voice to the non-verbal cues her body was giving off.
Oh boy, I don't know what I did but I will try to salvage the situation. Question after question I could see her a more visible frown as it appears she did not like what she was hearing.
Don't panic I kept telling myself as I have to focus on the truth, my experience and what values and assets I bring in.
Finally, the interview ended. It took around 50 of the set 60 minutes allocated for the interview. I didn't feel like asking any questions. I just wanted to end it and relive in my head what could possibly have gone wrong.
I am crazy like that as I overthink.
We bid goodbyes and I am scheduled for the last interview tomorrow. I hope that I don't blow it and do better tomorrow.
I need some confidence back before tomorrow.
