Favour is a product of good character. Sometimes people pray for favour but they dont do things that will magnet the favour which is kind gesture towards their fellow men.
Possessing a good character does not imply degrading your self esteem, it removes or subtracts anything from whom you are.
No matter how lovely or generous you claim you are, the only thing that lives after you are your works which incorporates your character. That is the only thing that will cause people to remember you even as long as they live.
You character is the best definition of whom you are, it introduces you long before you introduce yourself. Your character goes before you and speak before you.

Remember, even if you are the type of father/mother/daughter/brother/sister/son,etc that do good outside forgetting that charity begins at home, the only thing that will make your people (especially your family) to remember you is not the things you have one for the world but your behaviour towards them when you were with them.
