I don't know why I have been asked this:
Traveling is so much more than just seeing new things.
1. Exploration
If you're in a single place for too long, you become numb to everything around you. You get so bored in one city because you see every park, restaurant, shopping center, and pretty much everything that is fun. Then when you meet someone that is visiting from another city, state, or country, you see how excited they are about exploring your city while you're bored.
I am near the Los Angeles area so I see tall buildings and congested roadways pretty much every day. Imagine then going to Vietnam and seeing this:
A huge change from the Los Angeles concrete jungle!
Traveling desensitizes you from your surroundings. It forces curiosity out of you and pushes you into your natural state of exploration in order to learn your surroundings. As humans, we want to know and understanding everything about our environment. If we travel to a different location, we put ourselves into a completely new environment and it becomes a huge shock to our system.
Did I dab in Vietnam? Yes. Yes I did.
2. Food
Seeing new things, meeting new people, and most importantly, trying new food, is always fun!
For many industrialized cities, you can get extremely diverse food from all over the world. I mean, who doesn't love food! You can say that you've eaten Mexican or Vietnamese food, but how awesome would it be if you could say you had Mexican food in Mexico or Vietnamese food in Vietnam?
Your eyes can see new things, but your taste buds should taste new things too! Food is a great way to experience the culture of a new city, state, or country. There are delicacies and traditional meals that different cultures have and we should be able to experience them all. Besides, who is going to turn down delicious food? :P
I know not everyone has the ability to travel around as they please. I definitely don't have this ability. But whenever you have the opportunity to travel, TAKE IT! Life is all about creating new experiences and memories. After being around a certain area and doing the same thing every day, a nice shock to the system by going somewhere new feels amazing.
