James was noted for doing things at the dead minute due to procrastination. James, being a high school student, had a group work with his colleagues. The group trusted him due to his high level of intelligence and made him the group head.
Doing what he knows how to do best, he puts all effort into researching, preparing and making sure that everything is going well. He played his role well as the group leader. Being a group leader meant that he will be the one to present the seminar on the day of defense. One thing he hates is to misuse an opportunity, he uses any slightest opportunity he has to prove himself capable.
The day for the presentation arrived, all groups were seated with their group leaders and members. But James was nowhere to be found. He left his group members seated like sheep without a shepherd. His members were restless, every step at the door draws their attention.
On the other hand, James, who had fallen ill just a night to the defense, was in the hospital receiving treatment. He got a call from one of his group members and saw how tense the members were from the background chit chats he had.

He took the permission from the doctor who granted it to him after he insisted. His mother drove him to school. On their arrival, everyone refused to notice how pale James looked, all their gaze on him was a procrastinator who doesn't take serious things seriously.
He was able to ignore the stares and went straight to his group members while his mum located an empty seat in the hall and made herself comfortable. It was a group left for his own group to defend. Being the one who planned, researched and prepared the work, he didn't need any revision. When it was their turn to present, James stood on the podium and began with a courtesy.
After which he began "it's never my intention to come this late, my sincere apologies for the inconveniences and worries my lateness had caused my group members. The most important thing is that I'm here, at least it's better late than never. Although I trust my group members would have done amazingly well without me, they found it worthwhile for me to defend this work as the writer. My health failed me yesterday and I was admitted to the hospital. I left my hospital bed without doctor's approval to prove myself capable of this task because I know it's better late than never to stand on this podium and do what I trust I can do".
At the end, the defense was a success as everyone applauded him with a standing ovation clap and he made his mother who was present proud.
