Un escarabajo de colores bonitos
una zanahoria comía solito,
le gustan las verduras de colores vivos
y no comparte con los vecinos.
De repente detuvo su misión
algo llamó su atención
se levantó y una bolsa exploró,
con papas de pardo color.
A beautifully colored beetle
was eating a carrot all by himself;
he likes brightly colored vegetables
and doesn't share with his neighbors.
Suddenly, he stopped what he was doing
something caught his eye,
he stood up and explored a bag
filled with brown potatoes.

hasta que llegó alguien a atraparlo
es una papa de ojos agraciados
y lo dejo en la bolsa guardado.

It crept in little by little
until someone came along and caught it.
It’s a potato with pretty eyes,
and I put it away in the bag.
The potato even approached the carrot
and, without a second thought, bit into it.
It eagerly ate it
while the beetle watched with concern.
Cuando el escarabajo logró escapar
se puso a llorar,
lo dejaron sin cena, ¡que calamidad!
pero la papa le tenía una sorpresa sin igual.
Le entregó una banana

When the beetle managed to escape,
he started crying,
they’d left him without dinner, what a disaster!
But the potato had an unbeatable surprise in store for him.
She handed him a banana,
so sweet and ripe,
the beetle ate it; he loves it,
and just like that, he forgot all about his tears.
