I believe that most of you had your own treasure chest as a child. I have one as an adult. Maybe I never really grew up. Coin collecting has been my passion since childhood. Probably a family obsession :) both my grandfather and father collected coins. My treasure chest is my grandfather's old wooden bowl in which he kept his shaving tools.

I got that wooden bowl a long time ago. I'm not sure what happened to the utensils themselves. Someone even painted it. I've mostly had modern shaving equipment for a long time and I didn't need the bowl for that.

It just sat there for a long time and then I decided to turn it into a treasure chest and added my old coins, medals, lockets...
Even now, when it is opened, it has a strange smell of shaving soap and coins.

Of course, I keep some of the more valuable coins in a kind of notebook. And some are additionally protected with nylon or plastic. To prevent their wear and tear and damage.

I also started writing in the community about precious metals, but somehow I lack the motivation to write about "some" coin. Especially now that it's summer when I'm preoccupied with the garden and other obligations. Maybe I'll continue in the winter. Or maybe I'm jealously guarding my treasure :)

Although I think I should organize these coins into some notebooks or some kind of protection. But for now they are my treasure in my chest. It will take some money and time to get it in order.

Now this treasure chest has a purpose when my son and I play pirates looking for treasure. And I passed on my love of coin collecting to him.
