Let's talk about depression
Depression: an emotional disorder where feelings of sadness, loss, anger, frustration, disinterest, permanent blockage interfere with the activities of our daily life.
On January 13th, the world day of the fight against depression was commemorated, a space to reflect on how depression impacts our lives, an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of taking care of our mental health where support is essential for understanding and overcoming.
Sometimes a "How are you?" with intention or real interest, a hug, a message, a call, listening carefully, are small steps that can make a difference to lift the spirits of someone who feels overwhelmed.
Here are some recommendations that can help us support those who are fighting depression:
Cuidemos nuestra salud mental!!
Agradecida siempre ♥️
The reality is that depression is a disorder that affects us all at any time or circumstance of our lives, it does not distinguish race, skin color, social class, gender, religion or age.
I have experienced this battle first hand, only those of us who have lived this experience know that it is not enough to be told, do your part, but you are better than x, if you have everything, things are not so simple, nobody knows about that sadness that invades the whole body, that invisible weight that steals your energy, nobody knows about that anguish that burns us inside that does not allow us to breathe well, nobody knows about the invasion of dark and negative thoughts that spin, spin and do not stop, nobody knows about the desire to cry and the amount of tears we shed wishing to eliminate that evil that inhabits us.
Sometimes people who see us in that state think that we choose to be there or that we pretend. I think rather that we do everything possible to pretend to be well and that to heal, the will to want to do it is not enough. We must identify the symptoms as the first step to get out of depression, recognize it and accept it to start taking care of ourselves and recover, but sometimes we cannot do it alone.
We only have to remember that every small step or gesture of solidarity, generosity and empathy on our part can have an impact on the life of someone who suffers from depression.
Let's take care of our mental health!!
Always grateful ♥️
