Part 2: Needlework experiments that did not go as planned...

This will be part 2 of my blouse story from last week.

For those of you hoping to see the final piece, I'm sorry, my blouse is still not done yet 😟

What happened was, I unraveled the crochet piece from last week, determined and re-did a basic hdc all across the piece (this piece did not curl, yay!) BUT only to realise that I did not have enough yarn of the same color!!! Arrrrgggghhhhhh!!!! (the most important rule ever in any craft work - always make sure you have enough supplies before you embark on a project!!)

And I was so sure I bought more of that same color but I just couldn't find them! What I found was a lighter shade of green and a variegated green/beige/white colored yarn.
I tried the closest color (the variegated color yarn which has specks of the same yarn color but looks like it is far from the same yarn color) and crocheted the sleeve cuffs and the remaining of the waist part.

Let me quickly show you the current look and desired look side by side:

Do you notice the color differences?

Some of you might be wondering, why would she want to change an already beautiful flowy blouse? I agree, I do like the blouse. Let me share with you my reasons:

1. I bought this blouse online and I did not expect the bottom of the blouse to be this short and flare. When wind blows, the blouse can have quite a Marilyn Monroe effect 😳

2. The sleeves were also very flare and wearing this to a dinner can be quite annoying
   because the chances for the sleeves having dinner together will be quite high 😵

3. I wanted to try this method of upcycling, combining crocheting / knitting with sewing to give a garment different texture, look and feel (if it works, I can use up my mountain stash of yarns for the other blouses hidden in my closet!! (and buy new ones!)) Yippy!

So now, I have to make another decision. Should I stick with the colors I have, with what I have crocheted? Or should I crochet a new color for all 3 pieces (the hip/waist and sleeves) ? What color would go well with the blouse? Beige? Yellow? White?
