Our educational system this days are turning upside down to the extent am now having double mind if I should withhold my children from attending school. Don't laugh at me, because am serious. Also I know you'll share same mind with me after reading this comedy-like post. lolz.
Few minutes ago, the conversation I heard between my son and my wealthy scientist neighbour is troubling my mind and am here to inform you all about it because right now, am staggering. Don't actually know the right way forward. Just cool down, read to the finishing line with all understanding to be able to squeeze out the right option to follow.
As I sat outside my premises watching both my Son and my neighbours children playing, they engaged in various forms of playing and myself also joined them. We were just happy. Anyway, after playing for a while, I started asking them minor questions to sharpen their brain more since they're on holidays. I told them to form a circle, they did, then, I asked them to do whatever they see me doing. Then I began:
me: Show me your ear
Children: This is my ear
me: Show me your mouth
Children: This is my mouth
me: Show me your buttocks
Children: This is my buttocks
me: Show me your eyes
Children: This is my eyes
me: Show me heaven
Children: This is heaven (all pointed upwards)
me: Where is God
Children: He's in heaven.
At this point, my scientist neighbour walked into our compound. He overheard the children saying that God is in heaven. As a scientist, he doesn't believe the existence of God. So he quenched our happy moment by asking the children why they believed in God. One of the children told him that it's because, God is their creator.
The man asked why they should believe in something they aren't seeing and can't touch. He further stated that anything you can't see, or touch does not exist. Therefore, since we can't see or touch God, we shouldn't believe his existence. At this point, as an adult I am, I wanted to chip in a bit, when my Son voiced out ahead of me. He asked the man one mighty question that baffled me. Hmm, my people, even as am narrating this experience, am still shaking.
My son said to the man.
Son: Daddy, please permit me to ask you this question.
Neighbour: Go ahead my son
Son: Thank you sir.
Neighbour: Welcome my son
Son: Dad, please, do you have brain?
Neighbour: Yes
Son: How do you know?
Neighbour: It's right inside my brain
Son: can you see it?
Neighbour: no
Son: Sir, you're brainless. Yes, you don't have brain. Because anything you cannot see or touch does not exist.
Heeeew, the man grew furious and as am narrating this post, the man is still blaming me for not giving my son the best training in how to respect his elders and that my son is insultive. Am just lost. Didn't know the best way to respond. Need someone to tell me. I mean, a piece of advice.
Anyway, are this men with such mentality not the ones teaching our children in school? Parents, always teach your child or ward at home especially matters related to their creator. Despite all the false accusations the man is heaping on me right now, am 100% proud of my son. Do you have one like mine?
