Hello dear friends!!!
It is a pleasure to sign up a newbie on hive today.
The name of the newbie is Mr Dike Okporie. I met him years ago when I was active with steemit platform. Then, I preached about steemit to him and he was convinced. But couldn't join then because his phone was not all that active.
Few months later, he called me asking to know if the platform is still active. Then, I told him that I have found a goldlike platform far more better than the former.
That was when I introduced #hive as a platform to him. I made it clear to him that hive platform is unending. At that moment, he couldn't sign up because his phone was faulty and couldn't find network.
But last week, he called and we fixed time and date. Today happened to be the chosen day. So we agreed to meet at an eatery known as "crunchies" which is located at obikabia junction along umuola road.
I spent good 4 hours with him teaching him the most important rules he must abide by if actually he wants to be part of hive family.
Plagiarism was the first I mentioned and explained to him. I made it clear to him that if he should plagiarize, he must be ready to count himself off from hive because, as a family, we can't tolerate hijackers and thieves in our family. I Helped him to understand the different forms of plagiarism including self vote and otherwise.
I also explained what micro-blogging is. How to go about it and every other necessary thing he needs to know about short content creating. Further, I informed him about long-form posts and all he need to know now as a newbie he is.
It was after much lectures, questions and explanations that I signed him up because he agreed not to plagiarize and to live up to hive standards.
The name he chose as username is @waterdoctordike. The name sounds outstanding right? I tried signing him up with ecency.com/signup site. But it didn't work out. Look at the site response. Initially, I thought the fault was from his phone, so I decided to sign him up with my own phone. Yet, same response.
I even requested for help via #waves but before other creators could respond to my call for help, @calebmarvel24 had already given me solution to my problem by suggesting that I sign him up using keychain, of which I did and the result was superb and smooth.
I then paid 3 hives for his sign up and also forwarded all his keys to him. I further made it clear to him of the need to save his keys privately and secure. Nevertheless, I saved it in Google for him.
I am also going to forward this @ecency post to him for proper guidelines as a newcomer he is.
Thanks for checking on my hive activities for the day. I am grateful 🙏
