IV. Felipe was born in 1605. Felipe became king of Spain and Portugal in 1621.
Felipe did not think she had the experience to direct the country because she was king at the age of 16. That is why Felipe has assigned many nobles to be self-counseling. But Felipe's advisors were not loved by the public.
In 1640 the Portuguese started rebel against Felipe. Felipe could not conclude this rebellion. And Felipe lost Portugal. After these events Felipe expelled the prime minister from his post. And Felipe tried to direct Spain himself. But Felipe was difficult to manage. And Felipe again appointed a new prime minister to the Spanish parliament.
Felipe supported Catholics. That is why he continued to exert pressure against the protestants in Europe in Felipe. But in Europe, especially in those years, protestants was strong. These events worsened the Spanish economy. It also caused the differences in the people of Spain.
Felipe passed away in 1665.
