Charles II le Chauve was born in 823. Charles is the son of Ludwig. After Ludwig became the Holy Roman Emperor, Ludwig proclaimed Charles is the king of Frank.
But Charles has not provided any peace and stability in the Frank state. And in particular, Charles has been fighting throne against his brothers and cousins. These civil wars have lasted for many years. And because of these civil wars, Frank state collapsed economically.
