I just finished a 14.219km running that lasted about 1hh:3mm:0ss !

With a rest day yesterday, I was motivated for a longer run today. As I hinted a few days ago, I kind of set a new goal for myself: increase my average per run mileage, which of course if I can keep up the frequency would also increase the total mileage. For a long time, my sweet spot has been around 5 miles, I want to push it above 6 miles at least (I guess 10k would be a good first target). So, the intention for today was pretty simple: just rack up some miles at a medium pace, making sure not to push myself in the red zone (although if I trust my watch HRM, average HR at 170bpm is quite high). And with almost 9 miles, mission accomplished, at a very decent pace no less!
For once, I was able to start before nightfall, not much, but enough to stay a couple miles in the woods (cover picture from a few days ago, but same trail) and explore a new route after going back to sidewalks. Still looping around in the neighborhood, but not exactly in the same area. A little change is always welcome.
I thought I would start slowing down around mile 5, but I felt pretty good and kept running more than expected (it's for sure my longest run since 2019 Detroit half Marathon more than a year ago) and at a fairly consistent pace the entire run. I'm quite happy with that. Cadence is another story, as it was stuck at 172spm again.
Once again, just a couple dog walkers out there. With temps just above freezing, it's still too cold for most people here.
Added bonus with that run: I might be able to keep up a few more days with the champions in the December Exhaust leaderboard :)

Tomorrow, if time allows, I'm planning an easy bike ride to give rest to my aging joints. Then hopefully another run on Thursday (Friday at worst), but most probably shorter.

Keep Exhausting!
