Weezer - The Gathering - My Actifit Report Card: September 23 2026
Hey Actifitters,
As you probably guessed already, the main event yesterday was the Weezer show. But as usual, we started the day's activities with a quick walk to the forest in the afternoon.
Yep, that's what Kaia had detected. I actually saw it long before she did and it was a little weird cause it just froze. Until Kaia was on its tail of course.
On the other side of the forest, Le Chat was waiting for us, at one of her favorite spots.
Then we went downtown to catch the show at Little Caesar Arena. Silversun Pickups was the first band to open the night but we missed it, it was just too early. We arrived around the middle of The Shins set. Not bad but a little too soft for me probably.
Obviously, we were there for Weezer anyways. And here they were!
First impression, the sound is absolute shit! They bumped up the bass so much it was all saturated and awful. It was like these subwoofers in some tuned up cars when you hear them vibrating and saturating. That almost ruined the whole night. That's very unfortunate cause everything else was really cool, a massive 26 songs set or so, with of course all the big hits and the band had plenty of energy. Apparently it was the same problem at previous stops on their tour, with everybody complaining about the terrible work by the sound engineering team. Strange for such a big and famous band. Anyways, we enjoyed the night nonetheless, enough 90s and early 00s nostalgia to forget about the bad sound!
There are plenty of other concerts in Detroit in the coming weeks, let's see which one we manage to catch. For sure Pinhead Gunpowder, the other Billie Joe Armstrong band mid-October and hopefully a few more.
