Stony Creek Metropark - My Actifit Report Card: August 31 2025
Hey Actifitters,
With the sun shining bright yesterday and the fact we were going to a BBQ near Stony Creek Metropark, the decision was made to go for our daily walk with Kaia in that park. Of course, we started much later than planned, but we did head out in the afternoon. Not after checking if Le Chat needed anything, but she seemed okay.
Of course, since we started late, we also arrived late in the park. So we found a spot where we could immediately get close to the lake.
It was very crowded but by staying close to the lake shore, we could get beautiful views and avoid the biggest crowds.
It's probably not my most impressive photo, but I found it original, with the kiosk and its shadows aligning perfectly with the sun. That's why I'll use it for this week Around The World contest:
We continued along the lake.
Of course, Kaia also had to pose for a few photos. I tried everything but no way to get her with both ears up. So here's one with both ears back!
Near the boat launch, I'm guessing this is supposed to be a mast with the flags. Americans like their flags!
More of the same along the shore. It's too bad we didn't have more time, because I never get tired of these views.
That's where we had to turn around, otherwise we would have been very late. I'm always late for everything, nobody that knows me expects me to arrive in time anywhere. But this time, swimming pool time before the BBQ was involved, so I couldn't be too late!
As usual, Kaia was very interested by the water and wanted to jump in. But no time, and too many closed beaches because of dangerous toxins this year.
The lake was very flat and there was no wind at all, so no sailing boats, but plenty of SUP. That looks fun, I should try some day, probably too late for this year though.
We took the official path on the way back, instead of the unofficial one along the lake. It's nice too.
And we found a shortcut getting us directly to the car. This way, we saved a few minutes and arrived almost in time (which for me is basically early...) for a swim before the BBQ! That was fun by the way and delicious of course.
In the end, my step count is one of my lowest in a while. We just didn't have enough time to enjoy this beautiful park and we'll have to go back soon. But that was perfect for Kaia, she's still recovering and longer walks right away are probably not recommended.
