Saludos queridos amigos de Actifit, hoy finalmente me decidí hacer un alto y pasar por el zoológico de mi ciudad, este espacio está ubicado en el sector de las Delicias – Maracay. Este fue el primer Zoológico que se abrió en todo el país a eso de los años 1915 cuando gobernaba el General Juan Vicente Gómez.

Ciertamente es un parque bastante pequeño, a decir verdad, creo que es uno de los zoológicos más pequeños que tiene el país, estuvo por mucho tiempo en un gran estado de precariedad y la calidad de vida de sus animales también era deplorable, ya luego de las distintas denuncias de organizaciones ambientales y ecologistas, tanto la alcaldía, la gobernación como otros entes gubernamentales cerraron el zoológico para hacer una restauración a todo los áreas donde se encuentran retenidas las especies exhibidas.

Greetings dear friends of Actifit, Today I finally decided to stop and visit the zoo of my city, this place is located in the sector of Las Delicias - Maracay. This was the first zoo that was opened in the whole country around 1915 when General Juan Vicente Gómez was in power.

Certainly it is a quite small park, to tell the truth, I think it is one of the smallest zoos in the country, it was for a long time in a precarious state and the quality of life of the animals was also deplorable. After the different complaints from environmental and ecologist organizations, the mayor's office, the government and other governmental entities closed the zoo to restore all the areas where the exhibited species are kept.

Tenía unos cuantos años que no visitaba este lugar por lo que no la conexión con mi niñez fue evidente, este era uno de mis lugares favoritos para ir cuando era niño, recuero que mi madre me llevaba mucho a ver la principal atracción de este parque el cual era: la famosa Elefanta la cual se llamaba “Lucky”.

Pude apreciar que el lugar estaba en mejores condiciones, los animales se veían en buen estado de salud y quedé en cantado con las Nievas y los leones que tienen en exhibición.

Tomé tantas fotografías como pude, aquí comparto con ustedes parte de las fotografías.

I hadn't visited this place for a few years so the connection with my childhood was evident, this was one of my favourite places to go when I was a kid, I remember my mother used to take me a lot to see the main attraction of this park which was: the famous Elephanta which was called ‘Lucky’.

I could appreciate that the place was in better conditions, the animals looked in good health and I was in love with the Snows and the lions that they have in exhibition.

I took as many pictures as I could, here I share with you some of them.
