Walk out to "Conscience Point" in North Sea, Southampton NY.

Conscience Point is where the first settlers of the town of Southampton, Long Island, NY are said to have landed to start their town. To get to the point you walk down a narrow sandy peninsula inside North Sea harbor.

At the point is a boulder placed there to commemorate the occasion. My real aim coming here was to see the Osprey that do their Summer nesting here. Across the way is Federal land where they can nest unmolested.
Off the point there are devices for raising oysters in the shallow water.

Unfortunately the birds were to far away, even with my tele-photo lens to get good pictures.
