Fierce winds blowing outside. The night is turning into something out of the ordinary. And I was just thinking of fair weather and the chance to continue my quest for crops caretaking.
Compared to what is sounding the horns outside right now, the morning was relatively calm.
I got to a slightly windy village yard in order to mostly scout and plan for the tilling and sowing this weekend. If the weather would calm down, of course.
Knowing I was not for a lot of real work today, I was looking for signs of spring coming and signs of some of the newly planted trees living and growing.
Some of them did show something. Not as much as the old almond tree, though, the one I pruned a few weeks ago. The one above the well.
with the winds that howl, not much of these blooms might remain till the morrow.
One of the young almonds was close to blooming, too.
Most of the rest have at least shown some sign of foliage taking shape.
The other thing that had made the first step was the old peach tree.
Meanwhile, the new ones do not look good. Not sure if they actually survived.
Out of the seeds I spread in previous weeks, some initial sprouts of garlic, onion, and carrot, but only in the pots.
Carrots, peas, and beet were quite successful last year. But nothing of them so far. I added some more peas seeds today. Not a whole pack but enough to see if they shall grow at all.
I certainly hope so.
We seem to be on the sidelines of some huricanish thing that rules west from here.
