Goals are markers measuring distance and time. They keep you in check that you're on the right path towards the objective. Identify the various goals you have in life and organize them by the different roles you play. This will help with the Why behind the goal. Knowing your why helps fuel the drive in achieving your goals.
Take a moment and write down your roles in life (son, daughter, employee, neighbor, friend,...etc.). For each of these put the end game in mind. Picture this, its the sad inevitable day where you part from this world and these people have gathered to celebrate your life. What would these people say about you and your life? what would you want them to say? This keeps your emotional compass pointing in the right direction.
After discovering the why's behind the goals write down simple actionable items to go and do. Do not overcomplicate the tasks to do. Just do it and do it with accountability. When the goal is within reach and so close you can taste the finish line take note of that feeling. This is the feeling of progress as this will bring you long lasting happiness than achieving your goal. Be happy and self-rewarding with your achievements but do not be satisfied.
The clearer the image in your head of where you want to be the easier it will be to get there. Shine the light of focus where you want to go not where you have been. If you stumble and fall get up and keep going otherwise whats the alternative.
