Hello my fellow Splinterlands Warriors,

Welcome back to another amazingly amazing Splinterlands post, and I hope all of you are doing pretty well in your lives and enjoying an awesome day with your family and friends while eagerly waiting for the weekend. Now, if you are one of those undefeated souls who are actively engaging in this Web3 card-based strategy game, then I hope you are actively playing in this ongoing ranked and frontier season as well. Taking a quick peek at the ongoing season clock, we are now getting closer to the end of this ranked season, as only 9 days and 1 hour remain. So, there is still some time to push towards your goal, whether it is to get your trophy count higher and enter a particular league tier or to improve your position on the leaderboard.

Now, for myself, my current goal remains the same, to reach 4000 trophies first and then try to make my way towards the leaderboard. I am currently playing in the Gold I league with 3220 trophies, and I hope to make some good progress over the remaining days. Now let us talk about the weekly raffle, as with only 2 days and 22 hours remaining before the raffle ends, I have managed to collect 33 entries so far. My target is still to reach between 54 and 57 entries, so I need to keep collecting them over the next couple of days.

Another thing I would like to share is that today marks my 172nd consecutive day of playing Splinterlands. Yes, the streak is still going strong! Along with that, I received another 500 + 125 Sparks today, bringing my total Sparks balance to 26123.

Today, I also opened 5 Foundation packs that I had earned over the last 2 days from playing the frontier mode. The opening gave me 1 Legendary card and 6 Rare cards, including 4 Archons, while the remaining cards were Common. Not a bad outcome at all, I would say, for a little pack-opening session!

Shadowcomb Duskrose

Now moving on to today's featured monster, let us take a closer look at another interesting monster from the newest extra edition card set. As you have already seen in the title above, today we will be discussing Shadowcomb Duskrose, a melee attacker with deadly power.

Shadowcomb Duskrose is a monster type card that was first seen in the game with the launch of the latest Extra Edition card set. This monster belongs to the Elf bloodline and comes with a dual Fire and Death element combination. It is a Common type card and this monster has a massive 8 Mana cost and has a total of 4 abilities at its maximum level. Since it is a Common card, you will need 400 CC to upgrade it to its maximum level. But what makes this monster interesting is not just its attack power. It also comes with some useful abilities that can make it a serious threat on the battlefield. So, without any further ado, let us take a look at its stats and abilities across the different leagues.

BRONZE

At Level 3, Shadowcomb Duskrose possesses 3 Melee attack, 1 speed and 7 Health. Although its attack is decent at this level, it already has an interesting ability that allows it to attack from any position on the battlefield.

CHARGE – Allows this monster to use Melee attacks from any position.

SILVER

At Level 5, Shadowcomb Duskrose receives a massive upgrade, increasing its Melee attack to 4 while maintaining 7 Health. It also has 1 Speed at this level. Along with the improved attack, it unlocks another useful ability.

RUST – Reduces the Armor of all enemy units by 2.

GOLD

At Level 8, Shadowcomb Duskrose becomes even more dangerous, with 5 Melee attack, 1 Speed and 9 Health. It also unlocks its third ability, which makes it particularly effective against one specific type of enemy monster.

FURY – Deals double damage when attacking enemy units with Taunt.

DIAMOND / CHAMPION

At Level 10, Shadowcomb Duskrose reaches its maximum level and gets another attack upgrade. It now possesses 6 Melee attack, 1 Speed and 9 Health. And here it gets its final ability called the Ambush.

AMBUSH – Takes an extra turn before the first round of battle begins.

My Opinion About the Monster

After looking at all its stats and abilities, I would say Shadowcomb Duskrose is truly a powerful monster that can become a real threat in the right battle conditions. First of all, it has a massive 6 Melee attack at maximum level, along with 9 Health. These are awesome stats for an 8 Mana monster. Its biggest weakness is its extremely low Speed of just 1, but that weakness can actually turn into an advantage in matches with the Reverse Speed ruleset. So, do not take this low Speed lightly, because the monster can perform surprisingly well under the right ruleset.

The Charge ability is probably the main attraction for me. Normally, melee attackers have restrictions when it comes to attacking from different positions, but Charge removes that limitation and allows Shadowcomb Duskrose to attack from anywhere on the battlefield. This makes it much easier to fit into different team combinations, especially when you want to protect it behind other monsters while still allowing it to deal damage.

Then comes Rust, which makes it an excellent choice against enemy teams that depend on Armor. Reducing the Armor of all enemy monsters by 2 can create opportunities for your entire team, not just Shadowcomb Duskrose. It can weaken the opponent's defensive setup and make it easier for your other attackers to deal damage.

The Fury ability is another interesting addition. If your opponent brings a Taunt monster to draw attacks and protect the rest of the team, Shadowcomb Duskrose can punish that decision by dealing double damage to that Taunt monster. Imagine facing a high-Health Taunt monster and having this powerful attacker ready to take it down. That could change the direction of a battle very quickly.

And finally, we have Ambush, which makes this monster even more dangerous. Getting an extra turn before the first round begins is a huge advantage, especially when you consider its powerful attack. Imagine an enemy monster standing in the first position without Armor or a Divine Shield. Shadowcomb Duskrose could deliver a painful opening attack before the regular battle rounds even begin. That is the kind of pressure that can make an opponent rethink their entire lineup!

Overall, I think Shadowcomb Duskrose is an interesting Common monster with a combination of high attack power, useful team-wide Armor reduction, anti-Taunt damage and an extra pre-battle turn. It does come with a big 8 Mana cost, so you will need to plan your lineup carefully. But if you can make proper use of its abilities, this monster might become a valuable addition to your collection.

I hope you enjoyed reading my post about Shadowcomb Duskrose. Let me know your thoughts about today's post in the comments section below, and I look forward to seeing you all in my next post.
