Tinkercad is free and easiest to use. A friend went from zero to publishing his first model very quickly following my youtube series and new features been added since :)

So hive is stuck worthless for a while yet

Yep I used to make money from ebooks and courses, but increasingly people don't even turn to free videos they just ask their bot of choice. Interesting times!

Just read this, hoping you are right given

Everyone wishes they were better at art, the folks I look up to who put out amazing work all think they draw badly :)

Just going by what I see out there but if you can coach people to create cool stuff then yes that is entirely different. The additional concertn with slop on a blockchain is obviously the lax security

Feels like you're undermining the skill of AI coding. I'd say AI slop is undermining the value of ai coding because the last thing we want is more slop. Let's face it, 80% of folks using gen AI are because

I think something like 98% of the "I made this with a few prompts" folks bragging on LinkedIn never disclose their vibe coded apps either don't ship or don't have any users. There are only so

Hive is like any web based community, the issues and solutions have been discussed for a good couple of decades. People will always believe this time things are different ;) I have kind of given up on

I am a developer and I pay for all my own tools and have repeatedly over the years been told that nobody wants anything new without whale backing so how are vibe coded apps going to fare better? Seems

No no no apparently typing "pretty mountain scene" into a text box requires real skill and knowledge of composition! ;)

Yeah we got a model B at my junior school through the government subsidy and that had tape recorder for the longest time. We got an upgrade on load so we could contribute to the domesday project but I

More a complaint about uk energy prices than actual critique of Hive really :P

The beeb is a great machine, especially considering when it came out. Was too expensive for us back in the day so I only got one as a fully grown retro collecting adult :)

When I first joined I thought about the rewards a lot, now the coin is virtually worthless (probably costs more in electricity than any rewards gotten back) it is kind of freeing in a way

There is a great deal of risk involved, but also I see so many people on LinkedIn who one day brag about project A, then the next Project B, and then Project C, with nothing ever seeing the light of day

Yeah it wasn't that nostalgic for me but it has definitely upset a bunch of people :)

I'm writing for the new version :)

There are a lot of companies and developers who are totally fine with people conserving games but then you have others like Nintendo who are ruthless with legal threats and takedowns :(
