It's raining ammonia on Saturn. Trump was indicted yet again. The current police chief of Maui was the incident commander for the One October mass casualty event in Los Vegas in 2017. These things and more are in the news today. I don't care about any of them.
In the conspiracy world, people are saying that the Maui fire was caused deliberately by some kind of high tech weapon. This strikes me as ridiculous because why use a high tech weapon when a cheap lighter would work just fine? There is also talk of mantis-like creatures in rural Peru, which might be either extraterrestrials or soldiers in fancy suits. Until I see real evidence, I'm considering this story an unimportant rumor.
It would be cool if extraterrestrials just landed openly, in Peru or wherever else. I feel like if they landed here, a couple of things might happen, assuming we didn't stop them right away with a drone strike. The national security state would probably try to take control of the situation. And everybody else might decide not to let that happen.
During covid, there was widespread resistance to awful pandemic policies. This resistance was continually attacked by officials in government and the scientific community working in coordination with all major news outlets and social media platforms. Even so, the dissenting voices turned out to have been largely correct, and now everybody knows it.
The next big domestic event might be ETs or it might be something else entirely. Maybe it will even be a staged attack designed to draw us more directly into the Ukraine disaster. In the early sixties, the US made plans to carry out terrorist attacks on American targets in order to generate support for a war against Cuba. Operation Northwoods was never executed. But the fact that these plans were made in the first place proves that our government isn't above carrying out false flag attacks to further foreign policy objectives.
During the next big event, we may well find ourselves in a situation where control regime propaganda no longer sways the overwhelming majority of us. In that case, we'd likely further divide ourselves into ideological factions rather than uniting behind some single alternative story. That could lead to some very interesting outcomes.
Pandemic policies cut right through traditional partisan lines. The space formerly known as the progressive left no longer even exists. At the same time, moderate republicans were forced to embrace the reactionary fringe. Now we've got Woke totalitarians on one side and Capitol insurrectionists on the other.
The interesting part is seeing which new factions emerge following the next event. These could grow out of known philosophies like Flat Earth or nihilism. They could also come directly out of the event's specifics, like a UFO cult that forms after First Contact, or a protest movement in response to a disaster.
