Technology has indeed being a blessing and it has also made life much easier. In the past decades, Remote jobs was not popular as it is recently. Alot of people are known to do physical jobs where they work 8am to 5pm daily. It was a regular thing at that time and whenever someone talk about online jobs people do believe it's a fraudulent job because that's what it was popular known for at the time.
Things shifted during the pandemic, it was indeed a huge disaster because lots of people lost their physical jobs. The pandemic affected lots of organizations and companies, which made many organizations to start to develop strategies and ways in sustaining their organizations during the lock down period.
Even though the pandemic was a huge disaster but it was actually a blessing in disguise. Lots of organizations began to adopt the use of technology which encourage working remotely inspite of the lock down. Companies began to render online service in other to sustain their organizations during pandemic.
As a result of this, there are lots of technology advancement that was put in place which encouraged people to start working remotely. Remote jobs has been in existence far beyond the COVID 19 pandemic but it was not popular as we have it now. The pandemic was actually a trigger that expose lot of people to online opportunities.
Personally, I could say I got more exposed to remote jobs during the lockdown. As you know, man must survive😂. I was actually working with a private organization before the COVID 19 pandemic. When this pandemic began, the organization I worked for could not pay staff salaries. I waited and waited. When i noticed nothing was coming forth, I started exploring remote jobs and that really sustained me during the pandemic and beyond.
The beauty about remote job is that you can work at the comfort of your home, no transportation fee, and also you can earn in foreign currency irrespective of your country. I know of people who work remotely and they are doing well even far beyond those that do 8am to 5pm physical jobs. Remote platforms is getting saturated day by day. Most people are attracted to the salary, most expecially when working with foreign countries because they pay more compare to physical jobs
In my own opinion, remote jobs will always stay relevant. The important aspect is being relevant in the remote space as a remote worker. That's why it is important to be excellent at what you do and be ready to develop yourself. Go for trainings and certifications that's one major way to stay revelant in the remote space or else you will be kicked out within the shortest period of time.
Only remote workers who are not relevant in the space with be forced to return back to their regular 8am to 5pm physical job. It is true that the remote space is getting too saturated and the bid is getting higher than before. Note, their is a limit to what connection can do on this remote space, if you are not skilled or excellent at the service you render remotely, you will soon be frustrated out of the space.
The relevancy of remote work is dependent on the it's worker. Jobs will keep on popping up on remote platforms but it's how skilled or excellent a worker is that will determine if he or she will still be revelant or not within remote space. When you are excellent at what you do, opportunities will keep on opening up.
