Bob was a nice man. He never believed in honesty of politicians or bankers, but he didn't care or think about them too much - the world is still spinning around and our promised glorious future is bound

We the people are the only valid sources of "doing something about it". Whatever "it" might be :) However, since we can't do everything ourselves, temptation appears to have someone else to be in charge

Apparently above $20M there is not much improvement in one's lifestyle. This is what I heard today in some office discussion. This much can give you a house big enough, a yacht nice enough, a car hot enough

I've been binge-watching The Expanse, and there is a lot that I like about the show. It is quite believable, at least in political and "probable future" departments, there is the oppressed class longing

Before I write about the elusive "real value" of things (thank you @sumatranate), there is one thought that I better write down before I forget it... again. For quite a long time I've been fascinated by

This is repeated like a mantra by people who dislike the idea that some other people find a way of removing price tags from... things. Open source software provided for free? Surely they are communists,

Post sponsored by: My parents, having spent most of their lives building socialism... well, working hard and honestly in the system that promoted the same thing: hard, solid work, that was supposed to

Literally speaking the answer is yes. But otherwise? I had an interesting discussion yesterday about troubleshooting problems (from Sysadmin perspective), and general attitude of some people who... don't

Regardless of your political or economical need of belonging - right/left, private/public, it might worth noticing that neither is actually a pair of opposites. Even the private/public difference in case

Imagine the beast. Behemoth. It's supposed to be an animal, but tank as metaphor works even better in these modern times. It moves across the world, destroying life, happiness, freedom and creativity of

I do not remember exactly when I first understood that bombs need to be first bought before they can be dropped on someone. It's not that popular information - whenever there's a press release about military

Let's talk about pyramids. Actually, just one pyramid for now. The Maslow's one. No need to explain, everyone knows what it is, it simply represents hierarchy of needs, from the most basic (food, water

Inspirational story about anarchists fixing roads (instead of tearing stones out pavements, imagine that): Anarchy is taking matters in our own hands. It is as simple as that. Various subdivisions are
