The longer the break from writing, the harder it is to go back to it. It's been two months this time and... it's good to feel that the time wasn't wasted - so much read, so much new info downloaded, and now I should probably just think quietly for a moment. And digest. And go back to where I started, revisiting some stuff. And connecting dots. The problem is, of course, that there are way too many dots to connect and limited brain capacity get in the way. In any case - two books that added many dots for me to connect:
The Collapse of Chaos. Discovering Simplicity in a Complex World by Jack Cohen and Ian Stewart - that's slightly old, but interesting nonetheless, and
Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari - it seems somewhat oversimplifying in some places, but it provides very interesting overview of where we came from and why things look the way they do. The book does it by asking questions more than providing answers, and it's good - usually it is the other way around, authors provide answers and then make up questions to match. And the motto of the world is "the owls are not what they seem".
