A quality sleep is a means to an end.
“What’s the point anymore?” That was something I hinted to a friend of mine a while ago during one of our calls. I even contacted some of them and sent out questions as if I was surveying them. Honestly, it was just my attempt in finding something new, refreshing and the possibility of the What ifs.
I sent out this simple premise. What would you do if you no longer have any responsibility and have the means to do things you want to do? A lot of them have the answer of traveling” or in some type of fashion. Strangely, those don’t excite me as much as they used to. Sure, there are many places I have never seen and I start thinking if that’s fine too.
When the idea of venturing into the unknown doesn’t excite me anymore, there’s got to be something wrong and I start to wonder if something has changed.
Well long story short, something has changed. It’s the way I sleep.
So, if you feel like everything is pointless and you’re in your doom and gloom era, you might want to look into how you sleep.
As much as I could survive on little to none sleep, Some type of sleep hygiene is still required which means we have to wake up and go to bed around the same hours. It sounds boring and it is boring but that’s the way to survive for me.
When I recently fixed my sleep, parts of me feel a lot more restored. I started checking up on my spreadsheet and seeing how far I’ve gone off the track from my goals- As you see, everything is like a house being burned down. It’s chaotic, a mess and somebody needs to put off the fire ASAP.
So, last night for some reason, I made a simple commitment during my late night snacks. Well, it’s time to stop making these chewy snacks at 3 AM and start making them in the afternoon. This chewy snack is made from tapioca flour which is the common main ingredient for Indonesian snacks.
It’s easy to make and basically the sauce will lift everything in this snack. After chewing some of these cheesy balls, I was fixated that the next morning, I am going to do another review as time flies lately and I used to feel like I woke up on Monday and went to bed on Sunday. It’s such a crazy time wrap situation that I needed to get off of.
Instead of having caffeine the first thing right after waking up, I’ve changed my habit to drinking chamomile tea. A good way to calm my nerves before jacking it up with some caffeine.
I remember this used to be a practice I did back in the day. For some reason, the younger me was much more responsible and less childlike than the actual adult me. So, I am definitely regressing to the past where I was in a much better situation in life and time. Maybe regressing can be a good idea, in some cases like mine.
Probably, I talk about backlogs a lot but the truth is, without a good sleep, I was not that functional. You see, the thing is I should sleep 5-6 hours a day and I would feel great. However, my tracker showed my excessive sleep and that was the reason why, despite all the backlogs I have, I couldn’t just, you know, sit down and do it.
So, just like what I said in the title, it’s another reminder that sleep is important and sacred. You just have to guard it with your life and that’s how you can survive another day.
