In Time
I wrote this in response of @clayboyn #deepshit question " what would you do if you never had to worry about money or time?"
It definitely took me a while before I can get my mind straight answering those simple yet tricky question.
Here's my honest answer
Time is a subjective matter for me. I always question why happiness feels like a couple of minutes while pain could feel like decades. today, I still can't find the answer nevertheless my current hypothesis says that during happy times, we tend to neglect our surroundings. We only focus and investing our energy in the current situation which made us feel happy. The clock keeps ticking but we aren't bothered to check on any of it. On the contrary, when we're sad, unhappy and depressed we often look at the clock and think " when all of this will pass?", we invest our energy in measuring time, waiting for another day to come and hoping it was just a nightmare. To be honest, even if I don't have to worry about time, I would still feel worried at certain point as I feel bored living , wondering if there'll be an end point.
What would I do if I never had to worry about time?
One thing for certain, I am going to be the last person you'll ask about " time". Never expect me to know what time is it, what day is it because I don't care. I don't understand the whole system as to why our society create " time".l also consider myself to be doctrine to wake up at 6, then to brush my teeth, take lunch at 12 and to go to bed at 10. All of these don't make sense to me therefore, I am not following any of it.
" what if I am not feeling sleepy at 10 pm?"
" what if I am not feeling hungry at 12 pm?" and other if's.
I have a hard time dealing with college also with working as my latest experience, I was about to get fired cause I couldn't come sharp at 10 am. It was frightening that I was about to loose my first underpaid job. My society calls me lazy because I don't fit in the culture where they normally wake up at 5 and goes to bed at 11.
Another point in my life, I take things easily. There's never a deadline in my dictionary. If I love what I do, I definitely would finish it within an hour or two investing a whole lot of energy to it. If I hate what I do, don't expect me to move an inch and even to meet a deadline required.
Am I afraid of not making the best out of my time? the answer is no. I believe that if I hang around with the right people, I never had to worry about anything. I definitely will do a whole lot of good deeds even bad ones without ever having the thought to regret it.
Am i afraid of aging, death and forgotten? the answer is no. I personally don't get the point of celebrating birthday other than it's a commercialized party just so you'd spend money on cake, decorations, and some beers plus keeping the business going. Death, at one point or two, we all are going to die, sometimes in the most unexpected ways; like tripping in the bathroom, falling asleep, or I don't know, shit happens. I've been near to death a couple of times, glad I am still alive. the latest was last week but another day survived.
Speaking about forgotten, when I look at those long deceased artists, let's say "Shakespeare" and "Da vinci" people will never forget them,do you know why? Because they leave some brilliant legacy to us in form of writing and painting. Generations before me still remember them, my next generations will still remember them and so on till the apocalypse where things would probably vanished; that's when people will not talk about them anymore. So, I am trying to leave some legacy in the most simplest form I can do which is through my writings, actions, my words, and my support in order one day, i'd be still remembered even when I am long gone.
Assuming from several things above, I never had to worry about time in the first place when it comes to the simplest form of my life. I keep doing what I love without even feeling limited by 24 hours and 7 days. You might call me
" lazy" " slack" " couch potato " but the construction of time, is beyond my understanding.
Final note : I am going to write about "what would I do If I never had to worry about money" in a separate article.
