The general attention span that we have is lowering. Sure, you can write 1,000,000 words on why stoicism is the best ism in the world to practice. But the truth is, if you want mass adaption for grand ideas, you probably should try making it shorter.
People scan. They don't read unless you're paid to read- a college professor or someone in the academic are the examples. But your audience, targeted audience for mass adaption is people, regular folks who don't have much time to read your thousands essays. Convince them by being straight to the point. Make them engage, leave room for questions and discussion. I think that's much more efficient for harnessing our critical thinking.
From my experience in reading a lot of blog posts in daily basis, I find shorter post with massive engagement is a good thing. It took me a while to realize this. Longer post indeed have a lot information to offer but many of it don't even have points. It's hard to find the points in the sea of incoherent words just for the word count or appearance. Often my response in reading those kind of post is like ' yeah, sure', ' good article'. But, shorter post often sparks my interest because I will have much more questions and that's where the engagement comes. That's where the exchange of knowledge, information, being transferred and happening.
