What has changed?

The other day I was talking about work-life-balance and how some things have changed since then. But there comes another aspect that I like to talk about, productivity and personal development. I have been ruminating about my productivity throughout this journey and it is largely different than when I was in Bali. This is why, It's something that I am going to discuss about my newest tips to productivity and how I stay productive in a much more different environment with extra complications.

I have to say that Bali was much more social compared to Thailand and even Laos. In Bali, there are too many things to do, waves are calling, the sunset is waiting, and even the temple whispers to your ears to not forget them. When I was there, I learned to resist the temptation. Even though everyone was building something or working, they were having a lot more fun- safely to say it was 70% having fun, 30% working. It is very hard not to get to the current and follow the lead of everyone else. Another major difference is that the co-working place, actually โ€œofficeโ€ based which though it should make you productive, didn't work as intended for me. Now that I am in Thailand, I find that regular cafes and just a common room are making me even more productive than I was at a dedicated co-working space. The same thing in Laos where I would go to a cafe, start working from my laptop and feel so productive more than when I was home.

Then, how do I manage to still do some sight-seeing?

Unlike in the past where I was sporadically doing that and not learning anything about the local and having a little interaction with the locals. While I was in Thailand and Laos, I dedicated my afternoon to wandering around. Itโ€™s mostly to either find lunch and eventually find myself in an interesting place. It can be a park, temple, fair market or something similar. Sometimes it is that or either during dinner time. Having to move around is necessary as I am often idle for hours and those walks are actually a good thing as I am trying to restart my healthy life again.

Social but not too social

In the past, I found it difficult saying no and just wanting to throw myself into any form of socialisation. But these days, I can be social when I want to or just stay by myself a lot more. Whatever I feel comfortable with, I started finding this rhythm about myself and anything that doesnโ€™t hinder my productivity and getting things done. Perhaps some of you have seen how I am a lot more active on hive lately and able to push one post/day while doing everything else because I slowly find the rhythm and stay productive.

If it were the old me, I would find it extremely challenging to just be somewhere, productive, surrounded by interesting people, novelties and all the attractions that awaits. But with all the things I learned, I eventually find more ways to navigate everything and worked to better my life and my productivity too.
