Hello Hives,
Lately, I have been thinking about habits and how much they can actually affect our lives.
Sometimes, we want to change so many things at once. We want to become more productive, make more money, take better care of ourselves and our family, learn new things, become more disciplined and somehow get our whole life together.
But the truth is, trying to change everything at once can become so frustrating.
For me, one habit I am currently trying to build is consistency.
I want to get better at doing the things I know are good for me, even when I don't feel like doing them.
And honestly, this is easier said than done.
There are days when I wake up with plenty of plans in my head. I tell myself I am going to get this done, then that done, and maybe even start something new. But as the day goes on, tiredness comes in, something unexpected happens, or I simply lose interest.
Then I tell myself, “I’ll do it tomorrow.”
I have done that more times than I would like to admit.
But I am slowly learning that waiting for motivation is not always the answer. Some days, you just have to start anyway.
It doesn't have to be something huge.
Maybe I can spend 20 minutes doing something important instead of scrolling on my phone. Maybe I can finish one task I have been postponing. Maybe I can read a few pages, write something, learn something useful, or simply plan what I want to accomplish the next day.
These things may look small, but I am beginning to understand that small things add up.
Think about it. If you improve just a little bit every day, you may not notice the difference immediately. But after six months or one year, you might look back and realise that you have actually moved much further than you thought.
That is the kind of change I want.
I don't want to put too much pressure on myself to become a completely different person overnight. I just want to become a little better than I was yesterday.
So, the small change I am trying to make today is simple: do something instead of doing nothing.
Even if it is small.
Even if I don't feel motivated.
Even if nobody notices.
Because I believe the life we want tomorrow is often built from the little things we choose to do today.
And maybe consistency is not about being perfect.
Maybe it is simply about falling off sometimes, picking yourself back up, and trying again the next day.
Thanks for Reading
