By now, fine dining in Bali is something regular. It’s not something fancy because every restaurant around Canggu serves a fine dining experience at a bargain price. It’s one of the things I love about Bali where I don’t have to spend an arm and leg just to experience a fine dining meal. Yesterday, I visited a place called Via Emilia which serves Italian cuisine. In this place, not only can you make DIY pasta, you can also make DIY panini. Like many other italian cuisines in town, upon arriving at the place, they will serve bread with a selection of dressing from garlic oil to rosemary oil. Though to be honest, it was my first time seeing rosemary oil in the form of sprays. The staff greeted me warmly and let me choose any seat because it wasn’t busy. I passed through this place a couple of times and saw it was busy during lunch but surprisingly, during dinner it was not.
Almost Lost My Wallet
I parked my motorbike in their parking lot. There’s one story here, I almost lost my wallet. My thin wallet was dropped from my pocket and I just realized that when I finished eating and was about to pay. It was around 30 minutes and surprisingly, nobody took that poor wallet. In that wallet, I had a 100.000 bill and also my card which I always use for everything. I think I was saved that day! Imagine that I could not pay for the food that time, it must have been so embarrassing because not only I didn’t bring enough cash, my only option to pay is through transfers. Basically, if I lost my wallet, I am somewhat tied and fucked.
The Ambience
Via emilia has a nice ambience with a lot of books to choose from if you are up for a quick reading. Not to mention, the lighting is quite romantic if you want to bring your tinder date to eat at a cheap price. If you are going alone, that’s fine too. There are some classic pictures on the wall that tries to build an italian diner ambience.
The Food
This is one of the selection of the oil that you can use to dress the bread.
Do I recommend this place?
Though this one won’t belong to the scrumptious foodies scene on Canggu, it’s still good if you want to eat something and want to be a bit experimental as if you’re staying around Canggu, you might stumble upon many restaurants and might as well try everything around. So this one could be an option when you have tried many things around, including the delicious and cheap warung
