Heya Hiva シ

Ready or not, here I come…

-> from cleaning both on and off camera - the nature of the cleanup, being the deciding factor.

Adventure afoot!alt

It's no secret that not every piece of litter retrieved, 'makes the cut'. This, however, is usually the result of those particular articles, being of a lower level of interest to mention. Sometimes, it's even down to poor image quality. Every now and then, another reason may too, come to light.

Today, I found myself faced with a dilemma. I encountered what appeared to be dirty toilet paper.. the mention of that alone, being more than enough for this writeup. I made the difficult decision to carefully dispose of it, but thought a photo of the same may be 'over the top'. Maybe it was the stench, serving to reinforce that particular thought process!?

Started off with a beer bottle. Awesome to rid the area of something which looks so trashy. Also a hazard, mind you.

Then there was an item of clothing recovered from a new clearing I found (in the midst of dense bush).

A littered soft drink bottle required picking out of some reeds.

A lighter with some other bits & pieces.

This sparkling water bottle needed to be bagged with the other items.

Then there was this small piece of fabric. Not sure from what it may have originated.. it really just looked like an offcut from something.

A margarine tub was caught up in some dense flora. Trith be told, I was a little apprehensive as I pulled it out (in case anything was below it).

This little tub was found on the 'Brigantine River Trail'. When I first saw it.. it was only partially exposed.

Another dirty old item of clothing. Seems to have once belonged to a child.

In another direction, I located a rather ugly debris field. This yucky rubbish was bagged with the rest. As always, I was careful so as to not retain any associated bacteria.

Here's another part of that same area, with more garbage picked up.

All the rubbish was taken to one of the local municipal bins, where it was safely disposed of. The local wetlands area seemed dirtier than usual, so I was thrilled to have atleast made an impact in that regard.

Till next time,
