Adventure afoot!
There's not a day that goes by, where the unexpected is not to be expected. What that is, however, remains to be seen. Today it took the form of a fright and bite.
Whilst bundu-bashing, I was startled by the sound of something rustling in the bushes. For those following along.. you will already know that the local wetlands area around Peers cave, is not historically the safest of places.
To my relief, however.. it was only the sound of rubbish blowing in the wind. As soon as I gathered my composure though, I felt pain on my leg!.. to my shock, it was one of those hectic giant flies biting me! To make matters worse, as I jumped around.. the determined fella kept landing on me over and over again! I think I can learn something from that fly.. determination.

The first item was a pretty large piece of fabric, possibly resembling that of a single leg of a pair of trousers. Somehow, it doesn't seem to surprize me.

A more complete item of clothing this time, made of polar fleece.

This big glass bottle contained some sort of dark sticky gunk inside. Looked really gross. Not a chance I was going to open it!

A dirty styrofoam tray, with cling film. Must have contained some sort of food stuff. Probably full of not so cool bacteria!

The blue plastic collected here was so weathered.. that it kept crumbling into smaller pieces - with the slightest touch.

A few bits & pieces, which included the packaging for some small crackers.. and an empty box of jelly powder of all things.

From there on out, things got more gross. This may look like nothing more than plastic.. but it was moist with the likely remnants of whatever it once contained. It stank to say the least!

Then there was this.. it was way worse, and stank even more than the previous retrieval! It seemed to also have contained something peculiar at some point. Something with the potential of decay, I reckon!

More dodgy plastic.. there was a common theme here.

Nothing special or interesting about this ugly trash. Straight to the bag it went.

The last item for the day was some sort of a strap. I found it near the entrance of the 'Brigantine River Trail'. It's a recent addition to these parts (or I would have spotted it before). Wonder what it's unique story is?

Everything that was picked up was taken to a local public municipal bin. Overall, another day filled with sunshine, exercise and progress - a great success!
