My efforts today started with a two and a half mile walk to Guildford town from the Royal Surrey Hospital. I have walked this route before and it is quite a pleasant one, passing by the cathedral along the way.
My destination was the riverside walk.
A really pleasant place to take a stroll, and so close to the town centre too. I walked about a half mile before crossing over via a footbridge, then walking back along the other bank footpath.
The temperature today was considerably cooler than yesterday which made this walk much more comfortable 馃槄. But that did not stop me taking a break in one of the many pubs in town. A welcome break 鈽猴笍 馃嵑.
Before crossing the bridge at the turnaround point I took a detour to the top of St. Catherine's hill. I was surprised to find an old ruined chapel which dates to 14th century. It was well fenced off and not accessible but in fairly good condition considering its age.
After all this excitement I still had the 2.5 mile walk back to the hospital where I left the car! 馃槄
