Knot - Ink drawing, Hahnemühle Mixed Media paper 310 g/m² 21x16 cm, 2021
I could not be happier with my Diamine Autumn Oak fountain pen ink for the pretzel side of the knot. It is so pretzelly isn’t it? That reminds me, I have had a pretzel only once in my life while at the airport in Germany. A bit too much salt for me but tasty even so. The color fits so nicely! The grains of salt were achieved using the acrylic Royal Talens Titanium white ink. The rope or rather cable (I feel I failed to achieve a more rope-like look) side of things was created using Diamine Jet black drawing ink. For the outline, I used the Pigma Brush pen and Pigma fine liner 03 here and there.
I ran into a slight issue with combining Autumn Oak with the Titanium white. It started to look a bit too rosy in some places where the two inks met. I guess a more red pigment in Autumn Oak reacted but the second coat after drying fixed it mostly.
Thank you for stopping by and having a peek! See you tomorrow! ^^
