I have been thinking for a long time about the benefits of using the HIVE social network.
Some people join the network because it is a way for them to earn a cryptocurrency or look for similar interests.
Others like the fact that this is a place where you can express your thoughts freely without being censored or as is well known
freedom of speech!
There is an option in the Hive blockchain that actually offers the exact opposite, and this is the Curation Trails !
But what do I mean?
For me, automatic voting for someone's posts is something I don't consider as freedom of speech! Because this way you can vote for content that you absolutely disagree with.
This happens to me several times... and I realized it after seeing a few posts were liked/voted by me for something I really don't represent and I really don't like (or even hate).
Also, if you do it this way, you have no right to disagree with anyone and vote against it-downvote (actually I don't do it very often, but..).
I understand that when you are following someone you don't think about this, but for me the result of it is definitely against my understanding.

But that doesn't mean I have to like them automatically for things they like, does it?!?
So I decided to turn off the Curation Trail and to vote for posts only manual!
For me, the curation trails is not necessary.
